Version 2.0 Launched!
Our classifieds system started 5 years ago as Raleighlist.org and was nothing more than a personal desire to fill a need for an open and free local site to serve the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area. Shortly after launching Raleiglist.org we expanded the system to cover Charlotte, NC with Charlottelist.org, and Houston, TX with Houstonzone.org only because friends living in those areas asked us nicely :).
The Raleighlist system has always been lacking in a few areas and while annoying to us, it was a free system and so we’ve focused more on projects that actually pay the bills and keep the broadband flowing to the office. No more! We’ve rebuilt the new platform in Ruby on Rails and along with all the new features listed below, and a fresh new design, we are officially expanding the system to 26 cities most of which will fall under our new brand OhSoHandy.com. Houstonzone.org has been replaced with Houston.OhSoHandy.com and Charlottelist.org has been replaced with Charlotte.OhSoHandy.com, and sadly Raleighlist.org is now Raleigh.OhSoHandy.com.
User Accounts
The old self publishing emails for every ad you create was crap. Emails get deleted. You can’t delete your ad. Frustrating. Now you keep all your ads in an account which also stores messages you receive from interested buyers in case you lose those emails too. 
Improved Searching
Our old search tool required you to specify a category you wanted to search in. That’s oh so not handy. Now simply search for anything in the one big search box at the top of every page. This also searches movies and local theaters.
Expanded and Condensed Viewing
We now offer an expanded view of categories and search results which will show you a thumbnail image and snippet from the classified ad. We also offer the old school condensed view. To change your view, click the expanded/condensed link on the right side of the page.
More Movie Theaters and Showtimes
We’ve improved the way we load local theaters and movie showtimes to ensure we always stay on top of new theaters that open in your area. If there is a theater we’ve missed please contact us and we’ll try to get it added to the site.
Spammers and Scammers Beware!
We’ve implemented new technology to reduce the volume of SPAM listings and scammers on the sites. Be kind to your fellow users: doing things like posting the same ad multiple times could get you banned by our bots.
